Kimberly "Kimmy" Armstrong

Kimmy is a Junior at Hillcrest High School , where she is an Honor Student and participates in the A+ Program.  Kimmy enjoys tutoring Elementary School students in French and plans to attend College to become a Doctor.  Kimmy also enjoys spending time with the Youth Group at her church, National Heights Baptist Church.  Kimmy will turn 16 on October 2nd.

At about 6:30 am on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, Kimmy was walking from her home to Hillcrest High School to study before class with a study group, as she did most every morning.

While crossing at Kearney Street and Broadway Avenue, Kimmy was struck by a west-bound car.   At the time of impact, Kimmy was almost through the crosswalk.

This accident has left Kimmy in critical condition, in a medically induced coma, while her doctors treat her for multiple injuries.  Kimmy is suffering from a head injury that is causing brain swelling, along with a broken pelvis and shoulder.  Recently, doctors were able to stabilize the pressure on Kimmy’s brain with a shunt.

Kimmy’s family appreciates the outpouring of thoughts and prayers they have received from the community and friends. They have set up a fund at Great Southern Bank (Springfield, MO) in Kimmy’s name for anyone who wishes to donate towards her medical expenses.

Kimmy's parent's, Bill and Dottie Armstrong,  can be contacted by email at : billa360@live.com

This website will be updated periodically to keep all of Kimmy’s family and friends informed of her condition.
